Dr Amy Coles is an experienced veterinary surgeon who has worked in the south side of Brisbane since 2001.
Dr
Amy studied at the University of Queensland, completing a Bachelor
of Veterinary Science. Dr Amy received first degree honours for her
academic achievements.
Since
graduating Dr Amy has worked at the Albert Animal
Hospital, Kessels Rd Greencross Vets and Anvet Beenleigh, all of which
are high quality veterinary surgeries dealing exclusively with small
animals.
Special Interest
Dr. Amy has always
particularly enjoyed getting to know her clients and patients well, and
finds giving personal and individual care and attention very rewarding.
She has special interest in behavioural management, nutritional and
preventative medicine and in geriatric (old age) care of both dogs and
cats.
Family and Personal
For
the first four years of her veterinary career, Amy was known as Dr Amy
Trevor. This changed in January 2006, when she married Tim Coles. Tim
and Amy have a beautiful, playful and intelligent Burmese cat
"Crumpet", who adopted them shortly after their marriage. They also
have a few hundred fish (of many varieties), however these are Tim's
arena more than Amy's! Their family will continue to expand, as their
first baby (human!) is now one, and they are both very
keen to acquire a puppy once the early baby days have passed.
Outside of work, Tim and
Amy enjoy wind surfing, camping and mountain bike riding. Amy also
plays the banjo in a bluegrass band named "Tomcat and the Bluegrass
Kittens".
